National ICT Industry Volunteers Day celebrated on 14th July at 3 Lions Befrienders Senior Activity Centres
“With smiling faces”, that is how the volunteers and elderly at the three Lions Befrienders Senior Activity Centres (SACs) concluded the National ICT Industry Volunteer’s Day.
National ICT Industry Volunteer’s Day was launched since 2004 to encourage ICT companies to engage in meaningful collaborations that provide positive impact to the less fortunate communities. This year, the objective is to raise funds for the operations of the Lions Befrienders SACs and donation of electrical peripherals to enhance the facilities in these centres. Through the support of the SiTF members, partners and friends, SiTF managed to raise more than $20,000 both in cash and in-kind donation.
Besides the fund-raising, a befriending programme was held on 14 July at the three LB SACs. The volunteers prepared a simple programme with performances, games, and food for the senior folks at Mei Ling, Ang Mo Kio and Bendemeer. OPUS has supported in the fund-raising and Befriending Day @ the Lions Befrienders Senior Activity Centres (SACs) located at Ang Mo Kio.
We have around 30 volunteers from OPUS who have taken time and effort to join in this programme.
