Product Communication/Technical Writer is responsible to translate complex product information into user-friendly and engaging guides and documentation to meet the needs of the targeted audience and organizational standards.
Responsibilities
• Plan and write communication decks for product launches, announcements and campaigns
• Develop documentation, including product guides, demos, tutorials, code starter kits, design specifications, technical blogs and FAQs to meet organisational needs and standards
• Digest and summarise complex technical concepts to different readable and understandable forms for various target audiences in a reusable mode
• Review and edit contents provided by Product Teams to ensure contents are search-engine optimised
• Support to build and drive the contents strategy for Singapore Government Developer Portal
• Support to evaluate contents’ formats, types and mediums to build the contents’ cadence recommendation for Product Managers
• Work with team members of different disciplines to obtain in-depth understanding of the product and documentation requirements; to receive feedback and be responsive to incorporate in the contents
• Deliver consistency and timely refresh of contents
• Conduct research to stay abreast with industry’s trends and adapt the best practices of contents of leading technology players
• Serve as the daily communication point of contact across various teams, including product, marketing and translations
• Any other ad-hoc duties as required or assigned
Requirements
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Information Technology/Communications or other related disciplines
• At least 2 years of experience in business, product or technical writing
• Ability to refine complex ideas into simple, factual messaging
• Ability to thrive under pressure and stay focused to meet tight timelines
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Meticulous with a keen eye for details
• Strong team player with effective interpersonal attributes
